My Soundtrack: Go Go Berlin

Justice – We Are Your Friends

Cross was our soundtrack on the Folk-high school where we met back in 2010. We were (still are) inspired by how Justice manages to melt electronic music and rock music together. With Justice you always feel that something is out of control and that there is a chance for something to go wrong. That is what rock music is all about and we always try to make that feeling live.

Iggy Pop – Success

It’s a self-confidence song. This was and still is our attitude song – “Here we are. Love us or fuck off….”. Go Go Berlin is all about believing in yourself no matter what other people say.

The Vaccines – Norgaard

“What Did You Expect From The Vaccines” came out when we were living at the Folk-high school back in 2011 and it blew our minds. Rock music woke up again in new clothes. It had the energy from rock´n´roll but the production was tight and produced in a modern way.

MGMT – Time To Pretend

This is our teenage soundtrack. It’s the perfect example of how a production is really tight but still feels loose and improvised. The song writing is so strong, but its not mainstream pop. We love the whole production where gypsy music meets synthesizer music.

The Band – The Weight

Classic americana songwriting. It’s so simple yet so powerful. Can’t remember how or why, but this song stuck to us like mosquitos in the summer. We played this song backstage before our shows in many many years – if we didn’t play it, we wouldn’t play as well on stage as we would do if we sang it before. Funny story: We played a festival in Denmark, where we stood in our tent backstage and sang the song. Suddenly the guys from Travis busted in and sang along. They did a cover of it in the 90s. The whole band then went and saw our concert frontline! “You guys played a fucking blinder. Best rock show in ages”.

Klassisches Americana-Songwriting. Beste Rockshow seit Ewigkeiten“.
