Seine Musik ist eine wunderbare Mischung aus sonnendurchflutetem Indie-Pop, gefüllt mit retro-angehauchten und cineastischen Klanglandschaften: Augustine aka Fredrik Gustafsson. Wobei seine schimmernde Falsettstimme und sein kraftvolles Songwriting eine Einheit bilden, der man nur schwer widerstehen kann. Der schwedische Indie-Pop Künstler hat neulich sein neues Album „Youth And Why It Ends” veröffentlicht. Darauf erforscht er Themen wie das Erwachsenwerden, persönliche Transformationen und damit verbundene Ängste und Sehnsüchte. Musikalisch verpackt es das in wärmen Indie-/Dream-Pop, der sich aber auch von verschiedenen Stilen und Richtungen inspirieren lässt – mal von funky Grooves, mal von der New-Wave-Ära der 80er Jahre. I’m instantly placed in a movie scene here. The entire scene is beautifully described. So poignant. And the strings, oh my God! The ones that goes on in the background in the verses, they hurt my heart.
