Wundervoller Indie-Folk, der unter die Haut geht – dafür steht die junge schwedische Singer-Songwriterin Anna Leone. Nach ihrer Debüt-EP “Wandered Away” (2018) hat die 26-Jährige nun in diesem Jahr den nächsten großen Wurf vor. Im April will die Gute, die sich gerne von Künstlern wie Laura Marling, Bon Iver und Bob Dylan inspirieren lässt, ihr Debütalbum auf den Markt bringen. Mit der atemberaubenden Single „Once“ hat Leone gerade einen ersten Vorgeschmack darauf geliefert. Uns stand die Musikerin nun für unsere My-Soundtrack-Reihe zur Verfügung.
Seinabo Sey – Hard Time
I feel confident when I listen to this song. It’s got a lot of energy and the beat and melody is so strong. As a plus it makes me think of the performance Seinabo Sey did of this for the Swedish Grammy Awards. Very powerful.

Ich fühle mich selbstbewusst, wenn ich dieses Lied höre. Es hat viel Energie und der Beat und die Melodie sind so stark. Außerdem denke ich an die Performance, die Seinabo Sey bei den schwedischen Grammy Awards abgeliefert hat. Sehr kraftvoll.
Jamie Lidell – Compass
I love this song and the video game it’s from, Red Dead Redemption. Compass plays towards the end of the game and it’s such a climactic and beautiful moment, I got goosebumps when I first heard it. Truly a heartfelt scene and the song really takes it to the next level. Great to listen back to it.
Ich liebe dieses Lied und das Videospiel, aus dem es stammt, „Red Dead Redemption“. „Compass“ läuft gegen Ende des Spiels und es ist ein so klimatischer und schöner Moment, dass ich Gänsehaut bekam, als ich es zum ersten Mal hörte. Wirklich eine herzliche Szene; das Lied hebt sie wirklich auf ein anderes Level. Schön, es wieder zu hören.
Ray LaMontagne – Lesson Learned
The way Ray LaMontagne sings and plays is really intense and moving. I love these lyrics, my own songwriting has been very inspired by them. So much emotion in his voice and the stripped down arrangement with the beautiful riff in between.
Die Art und Weise, wie Ray LaMontagne singt und spielt, ist sehr intensiv und bewegend. Ich liebe diese Lyrics, mein eigenes Songwriting wurde sehr durch sie inspiriert. Da ist so viel Emotion in seiner Stimme. Und dann das abgespeckte Arrangement mit dem schönen Riff dazwischen.
Nina Simone – Ain’t Got No/I Got Life
I watched the film version of the musical Hair not too long ago and was really surprised to hear this song in there. It does say “(From Hair)” on the recording but somehow I never registered that, haha. I love Nina Simone’s version where the two songs are put together. Really uplifting to listen to.
Ich habe mir vor nicht allzu langer Zeit die Filmversion des Musicals „Hair“ angesehen und war wirklich überrascht, dieses Lied dort zu hören. Auf der Aufnahme steht zwar „(From Hair)“, aber irgendwie habe ich das nie registriert, haha. Ich liebe Nina Simones Version, in der die beiden Songs zusammenwirken. Wirklich erhebend.
Bob Dylan – Baby, Let Me Follow You Down
I had this on repeat everyday for weeks when I was living in France a few years ago. It really takes me back to walking around the streets of Paris and sitting down in parks and reading a lot of books. I really like the raw production – just Dylan, a guitar and a harmonica. I’ll try to learn this on guitar one day.
Ich habe das wochenlang jeden Tag auf Repeat gehabt, als ich vor ein paar Jahren in Frankreich lebte. Daher erinnert mich der Song daran, wie ich durch die Straßen von Paris gehe, mich in Parks setze und viele Bücher lese. Ich mag die ungeschliffene Produktion sehr – nur Dylan, eine Gitarre und eine Mundharmonika. Ich werde versuchen, den Song eines Tages auf der Gitarre zu lernen.
