Nein, so einfach wie es klingt, ist es gar nicht, für unsere „My Soundtrack“-Reihe eine Auflistung der Songs zu machen, die einem am meisten bedeuten. Diese Erfahrung hat auch Emma McGrath gemacht. „Ich hatte eine große Liste an Songs und Albums, aber ich habe sie auf fünf runter gekürzt“, schreibt uns McGrath, die zu Beginn des Jahres die EP „Settled In Motion (Silent Minds, Pt.3)“ veröffentlicht hat, und man hört fast ein bisschen Bedauern heraus. Gar nicht so einfach, sich einzuschränken. Allerdings hat die britische Singer-Songwriterin zu einer kleinen List (see what we did there?) gegriffen – und kurzerhand ganze Alben in ihre Top 5 gepackt.
Barndi Carlile – The Firewatcher’s Daughter (Album)
Brandi’s music just makes me feel good. I’ll put it on in the morning whilst I’m in the kitchen or over dinner in the evening. She’s so easy to listen to and has the most incredible voice. I’ve always been inspired by Brandi Carlile, she seems like an amazing person.

Mit Brandis Musik fühle ich mich einfach gut. Ich mache sie morgens an, während ich in der Küche bin oder abends beim Abendessen. Die Musik ist so leicht anzuhören und Brandi hat die unglaublichste Stimme. Brandi Carlile hat mich immer inspiriert, sie scheint eine erstaunliche Person zu sein.

The Script have some of my favourite lyrics, their tunes are just yummy in every way. The words, the guitar lines, the drum grooves. I’ve listened to a lot of this album over the years.
The Script haben einige meiner Lieblingstexte, ihre Melodien sind in jeder Hinsicht einfach lecker. Die Worte, die Gitarrenlinien, die Drum-Grooves. Ich habe im Laufe der Jahre viel von diesem Album gehört.
BANKS – The Altar (Album)
This is my ultimate moody teenage album. It came out when I was 16 and I was obsessed with it. I still stick it on if I’m angry or feel like I want to feel sorry for myself haha! BANKS is just crazy good with words… She’s so raw and honest. I wish I could write like her.
Dies ist mein ultimatives launisches Teenager-Album. Es kam heraus, als ich 16 war und ich war davon geradezu besessen. Ich höre es immer noch an, wenn ich wütend bin oder das Gefühl habe, dass ich Mitleid mit mir selbst haben möchte, haha! BANKS ist einfach irre gut mit Worten. Sie ist so roh und ehrlich. Ich wünschte, ich könnte wie sie schreiben.
Hyphen Hyphen – Just Need Your Love
I absolutely love this band and this tune is just amazing. I don’t normally exercise (because effort) but when I do, this is the tune I go to. I could happily listen to it on repeat. The first Hyphen Hyphen song I ever heard was Mama Sorry and from there I got hooked on their sound.
Ich liebe diese Band einfach und der Song ist fantastisch. Normalerweise mache ich keinen Sport (anstrengend!), aber wenn doch, dann läuft dabei dieser Track. Ich könnte ihnen glücklich auf Repeat hören. Der erste Hyphen-Hyphen-Song, den ich je gehört habe, war „Mama Sorry“. Seither haben sie mich am Haken.
Fleetwood Mac – Everywhere
Quality band and a quality song. As soon as the intro starts you know what’s coming. It’s just a 10/10 feel good song so it had to go on my list!
Eine Qualitätsband und ein Qualitätssong. Sobald das Intro beginnt, weiß man, was kommen wird. Ein 10/10-Feel-Good-Song, daher musste er einfach auf meine Liste.
