Gute Nachricht für alle Fans von Public Service Broadcasting: Die Londoner Art-Rock-Band – jüngst zu einem Trio angewachsen – hat erste Details zu ihrem neuen Studioalbum “Every Valley“ angekündigt. Außerdem hat die Gruppe das Video zu ihrer neuen Single “Progress“ veröffentlicht, bei dem Lucy Dawkins und Tom Readdy Regie führten. Der Clip ist von den Filmen des Kalten Krieges der sechziger Jahre inspiriert und wurde in einer Jet-Engine-Testanlage in Suffolk gefilmt.

Mit “Every Valley“ veröffentlichen Public Service Broadcasting am 7. Juli über Play It Again Sam ihr drittes konzeptionelles Album. Nach “Inform-Educate-Entertain“ (2013) und “The Race Of Space“ (2015), welches in UK auf #11 chartete und 70.000 Kopien verkaufte, thematisiert “Every Valley“, vor dem Hintergrund des industriellen Niedergangs und der vernachlässigten und verlassenen Gemeinden in der westlichen Welt, den Aufstieg und Fall der Steinkohleindustrie in South Wales. Im aktuellen Klima der zynischen und populistischen Politik ist dieses Thema aktueller denn je.
J. Willgoose Esq, Kopf und Gründer der Band sagt über das neue Werk: “One of the most exciting things about making this album was working with a whole cast of collaborators and musicians, from the local strings players, the Beaufort Male Choir, and our own brass musicians, all the way through to breakthrough acts like Haiku Salut and more established artists like 9Bach’s Lisa Jên Brown, Tracyanne Campbell of Camera Obscura and a musical hero to me and countless others, James Dean Bradfield of the Manic Street Preachers.
